Gavin Setzen, MD, FACS, FAAOA

Dr. Gavin Setzen obtained his medical degree in Johannesburg, South Africa. After spending 2½ years in general surgery at North Shore University Hospital, Cornell University Medical College, he completed a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Albany Medical Center.

Dr. Setzen practices the comprehensive care of adult and pediatric disorders of the ears, nose, throat and related head and neck structures with special interest in allergy diagnosis and immunotherapy, rhinology, sinus and nasal surgery and endocrine surgery. Dr. Setzen is a Diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology and Fellow of the American-Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgeons(AAO-HNS), the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy the American Rhinotogic Society and the American Head and Neck Society. He is active in resident teaching, clinical research and several local and national medical & non-medical organizations. Dr. Setzen is a clinical assistant professor of Otolaryngology at Albany Medical Center.

Dr. Setzen is Secretary-Treasurer of American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and serves on the Board of Directors. He is past Chair of the Board of Governors AAO-HNS and is the current Chair of the AAO-HNS Imaging Committee. He is President of the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), CT Division and is on the IAC Board of Directors. He is also President of the New York State Society of Otolaryngology.


Lawrence S. Kaufman, MD, FACS, FAAOA

Dr. Lawrence Kaufman received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Rochester, Rochester New York, where he was an honors graduate. After gaining early acceptance to medical school, Dr. Kaufman continued his education in Rochester at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Kaufman went on to complete a five-year residency training program at Albany Medical Center in the specialty of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

During his training, Dr. Kaufman performed all aspects of surgery involving the head and neck for both pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Kaufman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He is Chief of Otolaryngology at Albany Memorial Hospital.


Siobhan Kuhar, MD, FAASM, PhD, FACS, FAAOA

Dr. Siobhan Kuhar received her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Vermont. Prior to pursuing her medical studies she obtained a doctorate in Microbiology and Immunology and then completed a research fellowship at Rockefeller University. Dr. Kuhar continued her education at Albany Medical College where she received her medical degree and completed a five-year residency training program at the Albany Medical Center in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

During her training, Dr. Kuhar performed all aspects of otolaryngology including the treatment of pediatric-specific ear nose and throat problems, sinus surgery, sleep apnea surgery, head and neck surgery, voice evaluation and treatment of ear related problems including hearing loss and vertigo. Dr. Kuhar has completed a fellowship in sleep medicine and has attained subspecialty certification in sleep medicine. Dr. Kuhar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.


Nora Perkins, MD, FACS, FAAOA

Dr. Nora Perkins received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Spanish at Union College in Schenectady, New York, where she was an honors graduate. Dr. Perkins was enrolled in the Union College/Albany Medical College Seven-Year Medical Program and continued her education at Albany Medical College, where she received her medical degree. Dr. Perkins went on to complete a five-year residency training program at Albany Medical Center in the specialty of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She then joined The Rochester Otolaryngology Group in Rochester, NY. During both her training and in her previous practice, Dr. Perkins performed all aspects of surgery involving the head and neck for both pediatric and adult patients. She has a particular interest in sinus disorders and laryngology. Dr. Perkins is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.


John Gavin, MD, FAAP

Albany ENT is proud to welcome Pediatric Otolaryngologist, Dr. John Gavin. Dr. Gavin is a graduate of Colgate University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College. He completed his residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital and received fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. He is a board certified otolaryngologist and has been serving the Capital Region as a Pediatric Otolaryngologist since 2007. Dr. Gavin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. Specialinterests:vascularbirthmarks,pediatricsleepdisturbance, pediatric rhinosinusitis and congenital neck masses. Dr. Gavin treats all diseases of the ear, nose and throat in children.


Robert Adelson , MD, FACS

Robert Adelson received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University, his medical degree at University of South Florida, and completed a six year residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He then undertook fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Miami and was the division chief of that subspecialty at the University of Florida for 5 years. To further expand his knowledge of nasal disorders, he completed a second fellowship in Rhinology/Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Adelson is certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology--Head and Neck Surgery and The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Adelson’s practice encompasses the full spectrum of medical and surgical care for the nose and sinuses. He has particular interest in the management of nasal airway obstruction, functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty, rhinosinusitis, endoscopic sinus surgery, reconstruction of nasal and facial defects, CSF leaks, sinonasal tumors, and the management of maxillofacial trauma.


Michael Dailey , MD, FAAOA

Dr. Dailey is a cum laude graduate of Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois and the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago, Illinois. He is a board certified otolaryngologist and has been serving the Capital Region since 1995.
Dr. Dailey has special interests in adult sinus surgery, endocrine and salivary gland surgery, as well as adult and pediatric sleep apnea.
Dr. Dailey treats all diseases of the ear, nose, and throat in children and adults and will be moving his practice to Albany ENT & Allergy Services beginning September 4th.


Donna Silvernail, RPAC

Donna Silvernail graduated from the Albany-Hudson Valley Physician Assistant Program with honors in August 2001. Her training rotations included Pediatrics & Family Medicine, General Surgery & Emergency medicine as well as Neurology & Orthopedics.

Since graduation, Donna has specialized in the areas of surgery and orthopedics. In addition, throughout her career Donna has been involved with the development of patient treatment protocols as well as Patient Education Programs. Donna is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Earlier in her career, Donna also trained as a physical therapist assistant graduating from Maria College of Albany.


Maggie West-Bump, RPAC

Maggie West-Bump received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Siena College. She graduated from the Albany Medical/Hudson Valley Physician Assistant program in 2001.

Since graduation she has had extensive experience with Family Practice and Cardiology. Maggie has lectured as adjunct faculty at Hudson Valley Community College for the Paramedic Program. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the Amercian Association of Physician Assistants and the New York State Society of Physician Assistants.


Robert Nadratowski, RPAC

Rob Nadratowski received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies at Boston University in Boston, MA in 2000. He continued his education at Albany Medical College where he received a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2005. He has worked in areas of Ophthalmology, Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care Medicine since then. He has a special interest in the management of reactive airways disease and asthma, and management of combined airway allergy. Rob is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Rob is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.


Robyn Smith, RPAC

Robyn Smith received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences at the State University of New York at Geneseo, in Geneseo NY in 1997. She continued her education at the University of Virginia and received a degree of Master of Education in Audiology in 1999. She then practiced Audiology at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary in Boston MA, and UMAss Memorial Hospital in Worcester MA. Robyn then decided to further her career and education at Albany Medical College where she received a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2004. As a Physician Assistant, she has worked in the areas of Otorhinolaryngology and Asthma & Allergy since then. Being a Physician Assistant and Audiologist, she has a unique perspective in the management of diseases of the ear and hearing. She also has special interest in allergy, reactive airway disease and asthma, along with management of combined airway and allergy. Robyn is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.


Susan C. Hare, MS, CCC-SLP

Susan is a speech and language pathologist on staff at Albany ENT & Allergy Services. She specializes in the treatment of vocal cord disorders and voice rehabilitation for voice professionals. Susan is also a certified clinician of the Lee Silverman Voice Therapy Program, an intensive vocal rehabilitation program for patients with Parkinson's disease.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1981 and her Masters in Science Degree in Communications Disorders in 1984 from the Pennsylvania State University. She completed an internship at the Long Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center and her Clinical Fellowship Year at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Susan has worked as a speech pathologist, specializing in voice and swallowing disorders at local hospitals and rehabilitation centers since 1985. She has a NYS License, a certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a member of both the NYS and Capital District Speech-Language-Hearing Associations.


Judith Martin, L.RT, CTM

Jude manages the CT Department. She received her American Registry of Radiologic Technology Certificate in Mammography in 1997 and Computed Axial Tomography in 1999. She supervised the Breast Center at Albany Medical Center prior to joining Albany ENT & Allergy in 1999.





Deanna Ross, AuD

Dr. Ross is the Manger of the Hearing Center at Albany ENT & Allergy Services. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in communication disorders at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. She continued her education to obtain her Master of Arts and Doctor of
Audiology degrees at the State university of New York at Buffalo. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology.


Marcia Perretta, AuD

Dr. Perretta is an audiologist at the Hearing Center at Albany ENT & Allergy Services. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders in 1997 from SUNY Plattsburgh and her Master’s Degree in Audiology in 2001 from SUNY New Paltz.
Marcia completed her Clinical Fellowship year at the Madison Hearing Center. In 2004 she received her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. Dr. Perretta is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and member of the American Academy of Doctors of Audiology.


Tricia M. Brown, Au.D., CCC-A, F-AAA

Dr. Brown is an audiologist at the Hearing Center at Albany ENT and Allergy Services. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at The College of St. Rose, and later her Master’s and Doctor of Audiology degree at the University at Buffalo. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA), and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA).




Dana Whilhite, Au.D.,

Dr. Wilhite is an audiologist at the Hearing Center at Albany ENT and Allergy Services. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech & Hearing Science and Doctor of Audiology degree both at Arizona State University. She completed an internship with the VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
